Lisa Broughton

Lisa is an Artist/Maker who specialises in Sculpture and Constructed Textiles who joined the team of Creative Agents at Cre8us in Spring 2010.  Alongside her practice Lisa works as a freelance creative practitioner/Educator.  She uses her practical and acadmic experience of "creativity" and her knowledge and skills of using an array of materials, techniques and processes to deliver work which encourages participants to create original ideas that are inspiring, imaginative, experimentational and sustainable.  Lisa is passionate about developing challenging yet supportive innovative practice within the field of creative learning and has gained extensive experience and the necessary skills of leading:

  • creative, research and skills-based (long and short term) projects and residencies;
  • implemented new creative practices into the curriculum area (Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4, Foundation, Nursery, Reception, SEN), young people with learning difficulties, visual impairments, adults with mental health and well-being issues;
  • lecturer/course tutor at HE/FE levels;
  • lecturing, training and support programmes for young people, teachers, early years, practitioners and other artists.  Facilitated INSET for teachers (early years, primary, secondary);
  • created resource information packs for schools and galleries;
  • facilitated practical and inspiring workshops as drop-in, half and whole days including young children and families with an emphasis on children and families working and connecting together.

Lisa has worked in partnership with galleries, museums, art organisations, theatres, early years settings, primary/secondary schools, universities, colleges, community/youth settings, councils and creative partners within the UK.  Most recently she has been working both in the Midlands and London.

Lisa is a professional Artist/Maker who exhibits, sells and has commissioned work in galleries across the UK.  Her work is part of a permanent Collection/Sculpture Education Gallery "Sensing Sculpture" at Wolverhampton Art Gallery.  Lisa is currently working on new pieces and is writing a children's art book.
