Michael Supple

Michael is something of an anomaly!  He trained as a secondary English and Drama teacher, including publishing books on the teaching of Shakespeare, but now is in demand to work with Maths teachers on improving pedagogy and the engagement and performance of students!

His approach draws on his successful experience as a classroom teacher, his recent work for Cre8us as a classroom based learning consultant, developing the pedagogy of teachers/faculties, and from his work as a Creative Agent working with Senior Leadership Teams in developing not only their Teaching and Learning policies but the strategies to implement them.

The value Michael can bring is firstly, in his "side by side approach" whether in the classroom or in meetings this promotes dialogue with neither defensiveness nor judgment and enables a detailed analysis of current strengths and areas for development.  Secondly, his ability to understand the priorities of the several tiers within a school means he is able to facilitate the drawing together of the elements that make up any school wide initiative into a coherent strategy.

Michael is based in Northamptonshire but has worked for Cre8us in numerous primary schools to develop approaches to Literacy and several secondaries (in Coventry) including: Foxford, Cardinal Newman, Caludon Castle, Finham Park and Cardinal Wiseman.  He holds a first degree from Sheffield University, a PGCE, and a Masters from the University of Northampton in Arts in Applied Contexts.

Michael is Director of a newly formed company 'CHANGING CULTURES' which works across sectors, with a Creative Agent approach.

"Mick brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the classroom.  His pedagogic practice is excellent and his understanding of how people learn is outstanding."  Mr. M. Griffin, Headteacher, Abbeyfield School, Northampton
