  • Castle Bromwich Junior School is a large four-form entry school in the northern part of Solihull.  We are part of the Creative Partnerships' Change School programme.

We are open to applicants from all creative disciplines, with or without experience in schools.

  • Our school priority is to make the whole curriculum more creative.  We know our children have creative minds and fantastic ideas and we want to build on and enhance this.  We want to listen to the 'voice' of our children and the engage them in learning through activities that are creative and inspire them.  We want our teachers to be confident to make this happen.

We want the impact of the project to be...

    • Increased enjoyment of learning from disengaged children.
    • Children who use thinking and problem solving skills in a group or team.
    • Children who take responsibility for their independent learning.
    • Teachers to develop their planning for creativity.
    • Increased parent/carer involvement in their children's education.

Our enquiry research question is: "How can we develop teachers' understanding of creative teaching and learning and involve our families with us?"

By working with you we hope to organise creative, cross-curricula learning based around one Year Group theme (e.g. The Tudors).  We are open to ideas across the curriculum areas and arts practices and would like to offer our pupils a range of creative activities.

    When:

We would like to get to know you, plan our project and give you time to meet our children during December 2010.  We would like to start our project in January 2011 and complete by mid March 2011.

    Budget:

We have £3,100 for partner fees and are offering £200/£220 per day (inclusive of travel expenses) for up to 15 days practice.  This will include up to 2.5 days for planning, resourcing and reflection.  We have an additional materials budget currently standing at £350.
