Creative Partnerships was one of the programmes generated by the national organisation Creativity, Culture and Education (CCE). The programme worked with maintained schools Key Stages 1 to 4 across England fostering innovative, long-term partnerships between schools and creative professionals, including artists, performers, architects, multimedia developers and scientists. These partnerships inspired young people, teachers and creative professionals to challenge how they work and experiment with new ideas. Young people developed the skills they needed to perform well not only in exams and extra-curricular activities, but also in the workplace and wider society.
A school was able to apply to one of three programmes according to its needs and its commitment to creative learning. Schools received funding and the support of a creative professional, with an extensive package of professional expertise, networking, experience and knowledge sharing and a range of valuable resources.
The programme worked with over 1 million children, and over 90,000 teachers in more than 8,00 projects in England between 2002 and 2011.
Cre8us was the independent Area Delivery Organisation (ADO) responsible for delivering two of the Creative Partnerships programmes in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire: the Enquiry School programme and the Change School programme. We worked with more than 65 schools in the region at any one time through Creative Partnerships, working with over one hundred schools during the life of the programmes.
Cre8us had (and still has!) close links with all the relevant Local Education Authority School Advisors and Improvement Officers in delivering these programmes.
